Break Through Green Technologies

This list of the top 5 break through GREEN technologies are going to save our planet. The development and implementation of these technologies is going to help fight global warming. Not only will these developments help from human destruction of the planet but also help give the slowly recovering economy a push. Top 5 green technological breakthroughs from the past few years that we think will positively impact the way we live:

DYNAMIC BUILDINGS
TUBURCLE BLADES
MICRO-ALGAE
WAVE & TIDAL POWER
SOLAR-THERMAL ENERGY

Dynamic Buildings
These builds are being built in Dubai,UAE. They are constantly turning buildings so each floor is constantly spinning at slow pace to allow for residents to get views of all sides and to always have sun. But what makes the dynamic buildings so green is that they are self-powered, with the ability to generate electricity for itself, as well as for nearby buildings. It achieves this feat with 79 wind turbines, making it a true green power plant.

MICRO-ALGAE
Micro-algae has garnered considerable attention lately, since it can produce 30-100 times the oil yield of soybeans on the same acreage, while it’s biomass remnants can be reused as cattle feed supplement or fermented into ethanol.

One of the main obstacles to industrial production of biodiesel from algae is the organism’s reliance on photosynthesis for energy to consume CO2 and produce oils. Solazyme, a San Francisco-based startup, has been working for the past five years on deriving biofuel from algae without sunlight. They are using sugar. Algae are not entirely dependent on sunlight for growth, in fact, they are 1000 times more efficient at producing oils from sugar compared to growth by sunlight. Although the process is still in development, Solazyme’s claim may prove to have revolutionary merit.

These are the two most dramatic technological changes and improvements because they are dealing with issues that need to be addressed immediately. The cost to live in rotating, energy generating building in Dubai will defiantly be high. Technological development comes from the top the rich adapt first and then as the cost comes down the rest can afford to utilize the technology.

Do it yourself sites

Handy Web Sites for Home Sellers Who Go It Alone
About 15 to 20 percent of home sellers decide not to work through an agent, though that figure can change depending on the market. Those who choose to sell their homes themselves might come out ahead by not having to pay commission, if they manage to strike a good deal. Several sites are designed specifically to help with the task.

USB EVERYTHING!!!

Back in 1996 the USB 1.0 specification was introduced. USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a specification for establishing a communication between devices and a host controller (usually personal computers). As is known USB was designed to replace different kinds of serial and parallel ports. USB can connect computer devices such as mice, keyboards, digital cameras, printers, personal media players, flash drives, and external hard drives. For many of those devices, USB has become the standard connection method. But the range of devices that can work with the USB has extended in recent times and in this article we would like to cover some of such unique and in some cases even somewhat eccentric gadgets deploying USB connection.

Rechargeable battery

This is one of the several most useful devices in a series of other numerous thingamajigs invented to support USB connection. As you can see from the picture you just need to open a cap on the battery and stick it into the nearest USB port, if any. While, of course if you have other devices that can be energized from USB connection without any need in batteries then it is also just another redundant widget.

AC Necktie

For the situations when you get hot and wish you had something to cool you down pull down on the knot of the tie, which will reveal a fan that sucks cool air in against your neck and inside your shirt. Yeah, the device is really unique and unusual, yet it certainly cannot replace the necessary fresh air you indeed start feeling that it is too stuffy and hot around you.

George Foreman USB iGrill

One website that criticized different USB devices made such a caustic remark on this gadget: “Did you know that the former boxer and twice Heavyweight Champion of the world George Foreman were into USB devices? Well, neither did we. But for $99.99 you can get your own USB powered grill standing next to your computer. For whom is this product meant to be? The boxing interested chef who also is a computer geek?"

The Potentials of Technology

Some interesting things that could change every aspect of daily life. Potentially free energy no more bills!! The potential freedom that these technological developments are talking remarkable! These are things that are probably never going to happen!

1. Future Technology - Free Energy
I want my energy bill to come only once, not every month. So be it solar or electro-magnetic, please make it personal and portable with batteries that keep going and going.
Check out - D.O.E. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

2. Future Technology - TransporterWhat kind of technology is required to scramble a person's atoms and send them for regrouping in foreign lands all in the blink of an eye? Imagine, I could work in Tokyo and sleep in Paris. Beam me up.
Check out - Quantum Teleportation or Scientists Report 'Teleported' Data

3. Future Technology - Replicator Technology (Stuff for Free)
Every time I saw Captain Picard (Star Trek Next Generation) ordering his Earl Grey Tea or Councilor Troy getting a triple alien fudge dessert from one of those replicators on the Enterprise, it made me jealous. I imagine you could send the dirty dishes back to the void where they came from. BTW, a replicator is a device that uses transporter technology to dematerialize quantities of matter and then rematerialize that matter in another form

4. Future Technology - Universal Communicator
Forget long distant bills and roaming charges (especially with me working in Tokyo and sleeping in Paris). I want a very small device that lets me talk and see anyone, anywhere and anytime. All for the price of the device and please throw in the ability for universal translation for a modest surcharge.

5. Future Technology - The Cure
For you name it.

6. Future Technology - Fountain of Youth
As a woman I consider this as a no-brainer desire for future technology. The "Fountain of Youth" was a legendary spring that renders anyone who drinks of its waters permanently young. What is the real future technology that will extend our lives and keep us looking youthful without surgery?

7. Future Technology - Protective Force Field
To shield me from the sticks and stones.

8. Future Technology - Flying Cars
I want a smooth ride all the way and I hope it's a convertible.

9. Future Technology - The Battery Operated Butler Did It
What can I say - housework sucks.

10.Future Technology - The Time Machine I have a few famous inventors I would love to meet in person and the idea of messing with the time-space continuum is exciting as well.

Obama on Internet Censorship

President Obama was in China and discussed freedom of speech. He spoke about how important it was to be able to use any means to express yourself like twitter, facebook or even this blog. Obama stated that he is a "big supporter of not restricting Internet use, Internet access, other information technologies like Twitter. The more open we are, the more we can communicate. And it also helps to draw the world together." President Obama
Obama was in China so he didnot directly talk about the restriction that Chinese government places on its citizens like censorship or even the questions that the students asked the president sound like they were approved by a government official because they avoided major questions that should have been asked.

Will Technology kill us?

How Technology will kill us!!!!
This sounds very funny and this article is amazingly funny its a Wes must read!!!!!!
Well it talks about Wifi/Radiation, this maybe very real with the amount of cell phone usage brain tumors are probably something that we will all be facing eventually. This is the only real point out of the seven that makes sense you should defiantly read this and have a great laugh. The other six points are:
6. Hackers and computer viruses
5. Global warming
4. Alien invasion
3. Nuclear radiation
2. Genetic engineering
1. Powerful artificial intelligence

THIS IS A MUST READ CHECK IT OUT!

Facebook SPAM!!

We all know about spam and how annoying it is but its something that I believe will always be around. The most annoying is defiantly Facebook spam when someone writes on your wall and they are asking you to go check out a random site or buy ring tones. This article on E-Commerce News talks about a lawsuit that was one by Facebook and Myspace against notorious spammers. The articles says that Facebook won $711 million which is a lot of money the article goes on to explain that the large amount of money is a deterrent and that Facebook does not expect to receive the money but hopes that it discourages others from spamming and taking advantage of users to promote products. This is defiantly huge step in protecting users from unwanted and forced advertising. This lawsuit defiantly will deter some but the internet is global and there will always be someone else with the ability to affect all internet users with unwanted emails, ads and pop ups.

This is a great article

Iphone Apps

The Iphone is a great product that truly takes e-business to a new level. This is defiantly a new way to market products and services it allows for companies to take advantage of a median that allows for a consumer to access your business at anytime. This type of access from a mobile devices defiantly allows for great reach for any company.

The iPhone's 2 Billion Horsepower App Engine. This article explains that 500 million apps have been downloaded this quarter. What this means a company that would like to create attention to is company create a dynamic app that is given away to iphone users and allows them to acces this app and then view ads that are associated with your company defiantly a great way to create exposure.

E-Commerce in the developing world?

Is e-Commerce good for the economy of developing countries?
In my opinion E-commerce is the future of our world and will defiantly improve the economies' of developing countries. The Ability to purchase products and provide products to customers in remote locations will allow for growth and allow for economic growth because people will now be conducting business with people they did not have the ability to conduct business with. This fact alone will promote growth and assuming that all the barriers are effectively solved or at least at the same levels as the developed world. The more people spending money and at the same time saving money will create more need for people to provide different products and services for people to expand. The economic growth will be large and will allow these developing countries to start to solve some of their problems such as improved mail systems. E-Commerce is the future and bringing e-commerce to the developing countries will give them the opportunity grow and connect with the developed world. The cost initially will be large but the profits will defiantly be immense.

E-commerce in the developing world

What can be done to breakdown any barriers?
To breakdown the access barrier there is already a step in place a company is making the $100 notebook which will put computers in the hands of a lot more people. The goal of companies like MIT Media Labs is " to put a $100 notebook in the hands of every child in the world is picking up big corporate partners, top engineering talent, and interest from several countries "o . ( http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,172611,00.html retrieved September 29.2009) This will defiantly increase the ability of consumers to use the internet and make e-commerce a realist way of conducting business. Lack of Skills is a barrier that can be easily dealt with because once people have the computers in their hands they will instantly ready to learn and ready to improve their skills. Programs could be made available to people to teach them the basics of using their computers.
Security barriers are more difficult than a $100 notebook but can be dealt with by insuring that companies are using the appropriate programs to protect their site and customer information. Companies and people will have to go about their business in a new way because they are not dealing with the corner store and will have to ensure that they are making secure purchase that companies like PayPal will defiantly be ready to assistant in this new growth. The cost of the computer is cheap and with the goals that the MIT Media Labs has of finding corporate sponsors to put the computers in the developing nations hands specifically " One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), a nonprofit venture, is expected to start distributing machines late next year and to produce 100 to 200 million machines in 2007." E-Commerce in the Developing World

What are the barriers to the adoption of sell-side e-commerce by businesses in developing countries?

The barriers to the adoption of Sell-side E-commerce are great but if they are effectively dealt with it leaves these countries a lot better off. The main barrier is the access to the internet and computers or internet ready devices. Security problems are also going to be a big barrier as well because the internet in developed countries is a risk so in countries where the government is not fully functioning like Somalia. Risk of fact sites or information stealing sites will defiantly be something that needs to be addressed. The lack of skills to use the internet or use the devices is a barrier but like anything access will create the skills at least in my own opinion skills to use the these internet devices will be easily picked up but is still a barrier because some people will not want to use the internet. Cost to getting access is a major barrier because these are developing countries and they do not have large middle classes that have the ability to spend money on things like computers. The access to the internet is also a barrier because it might not be cheap even if the customer has a computer or internet device. Shipping is a great barrier because of how remote developing countries can be and they may not have the same sort of street system or mail system in place.

E-Commerce in the Developing World

1. What are the drivers to the adoption of sell-side e- commerce by businesses in developing countries?
The Adoption of Sell-side E-commerce in Developing countries will be a great development. The drivers of sell side e-commerce will be the cost and how much customer will be able to save with the opportunity to research the best price. There will also be more options available to the customer which will also drive the market and create more demand. I believe that continued growth will continue its will just take a while to get the ball rolling. Savings from both the businesses and customers side as well. Customers will be able to save because they will have the opportunity to search different options and different companies. Companies or people selling products on-line will also save on costs like less people working for them. No need for store fronts which is a great for developing countries because some people are in remote areas so they can access the same products online. Content will also be a driver because it will allow for more information on products and services to customers so they will know or have a better idea of what they need and what product or services is appropriate for their needs.
Customization- different emails that can be sent out to certain customers based on past purchases. For example if there are new products that are available emails could be directly sent out to customers so they will have more knowledge and improve their business or lives.
Community- Will allow for developing country to stay connected and allow for more connect with friends and family. It will also allow for groups of people to discuss their products and services and allow for customers to discuss them.

Evolution of the Internet in our lives. Internet is apart of our lives now but like in this video I believe we will have internet in every part of our lives. Internet will be used so often that not using the Internet will make life extremely difficult. This video is a little old but makes great points.

What is E-Commerce?

This is a great site that explains E-Commerce simply! This is the link to the United States export page. It is really helpful in that it explains and gives examples of E-Commerce Businesses. This site also gives details about the different steps needed in order to become successful and what is needed in order to run an E-Commerce business or expand into E-commerce.
There is a Step by Step guide to going on-line.
I think this a great site that is very informative and easy to understand.
